Having a Blast; Shout Out To Lords of the Fallen HEXWORKS

Dark Souls / Elden Ring Styled Gaming

Recently released on the Xbox Game Pass Lords of the Fallen has been a pretty fun game to play, I've literally become hooked, trying to collect and unlock the best gear, spells, weapons, etc.

I've been wanting to take a break so I could write this article about Lords of the Fallen but it's so vast and honestly kind of easy to get lost in so I've been taking a decent amount of time to navigate through the entire world, but I've beaten the game three times now (as of posting) so I am really starting to get the hang of the mechanics and the game in general.

Once you've beaten the game at least one time you can restart back to the beginning but keeping all of your gear, stats, basically anything you've unlocked along the way giving you an entirely new experience to play through again.

* SPOILERS *

Players will ultimately have to know which ending they want right away, because if a player is to make it to their first beacon, one of five beacons and interact with it choosing the Cleanse beacon option will lock them into one of three endings.

Endings

There are three different endings that you can reach:

  • Radiant
  • Inferno
  • Umbral

Radiant Ending

This ending is pretty straight forward and basically just requires the player to play through the game cleansing each beacon along their journey. This is give the player the Radiant Ending.

Inferno Ending

The inferno can be completed by making your way to each and every beacon but instead of using the Cleanse beacon option the player will instead not interact with the beacon at all, or choosing to do nothing.

Umbral Ending

This is a secret ending that will require a bit more work on the players end but will follow a majority of the inferno's ending through the gameplay.

If you would like a more detailed guide for the endings please check out the Wiki pages as these are more than capable of helping you understand the steps and how you should go about reaching the desired ending of your choice.

With cross platform and multiplayer abilities in Lords of the Fallen gives the game just another feature that really engages the player and adds immersion and depth as you might need some help with some of the boss's that the game will present.

I've honestly enjoyed this feature probably the most as me and my brother can play together while also helping each other progress further through the story, and unlocking more weapons, spells, etc.

Overall Great Game

This is an overall great game with a decent story and great gameplay, adopting the Dark Souls, Elden Ring, styled fighting and combat system while remaining it's own thing. I've been playing it nonstop for the past week and I've been honestly enjoying it, I'd really give this one a try especially if you have Xbox Game Pass as this is a free download if you are a subscriber, although if you are not a subscriber it is well worth the purchase and will give you hours and hours of gameplay.
